MLB The Show 23 just released their first official gameplay trailer. While the trailer is short at only 30 seconds long, it did hold a few snapshots of new things coming to the game. This includes new legends, as well as a first look at advertised changes for Franchise mode.

Franchise Draft Screen

The biggest nugget of new info in this trailer is the first look at the new MLB Draft screen coming to Franchise mode. A few weeks ago on the pre-order page for MLB The Show 23, it was teased that the MLB Draft experience in Franchise mode would be completely reworked. This is part of that rework, as the new screen offers a few glimpses at changes to come this year.

The biggest change besides just the overall layout is the scouting ranges. For as long as MLB The Show has existed, Franchise mode scouting has used the 20-80 range that is used by real MLB scouts. That seems to be going away this year. On the screen, we see the prospects potential and overall ranges. The potential range goes from 65-99 and the overall ranges 56-90. Not only are we seeing a new potential scale, but the possibility of finally being able to draft MLB ready prospects is very exciting.

There are also draft rankings listed both for MLB and the organization. We also see a Bonus Demand at the very top of the info screen. This suggests this will be very important information, however what exactly it means we are not sure. Is it possible that the MLB Draft Bonus Pool will be added into Franchise mode this year? Time will only tell, as we expect to get more Franchise mode information in a future Feature Premiere live stream.

New Legends

This trailer also gave us our first look at two new legends coming to MLB The Show 23. The first is the one we already know about. We got our first look at Derek Jeter in the game and it looks really good. We see him do his classic jump throw to first base.

The second legend is a bit more mysterious. It is a player who appears to be wearing the powder blue Kansas City Royals uniforms, but who the player actually is remains unknown for certain due to the amount of smoke in front of him. We will probably see this player revealed fully in the days to come.

The game can be played online for free. The phoodle game has a daily puzzle that can only be played once per day. The player has to type a five-letter word in the input box and press enter.
