MLB The Show 24 Players Lose ALL of their Diamond Dynasty Items and Progress

The first week of the MLB season has brought tons of excitement and joy to fans across the country. Already we’ve seen crazy walk offs, incredible diving plays, and even a no-hitter. Meanwhile, it hasn’t been the best week for MLB The Show 24 players. After last week’s update literally broke the game, this week’s content update turned many fans sour towards the new format for Monthly Awards. However, the latest issue with the game is by far the worst we have seen yet.

Going, Going, Gone?

Early Thursday morning, many MLB The Show 24 players woke up to find that their entire Diamond Dynasty accounts had been reset. All progress these players had made since the launch of the game was now gone. This includes all cards, program progress, and stubs were missing. It was as if they had just entered the mode for the first time.

Some players were able to quickly recover their accounts. They were able to do this by going to the MLB The Show website, signing into their MLB The Show account, and relinking their console to their account. However, for many players, their MLB The Show account was also completely blank. Their entire inventory of items was nowhere to be found.

Around 8 am PT, the official MLB The Show X account posted that they were aware of the issues players were having and they were working to resolved the issue as soon as possible. They also said in a later post that due to these issues, they would be postponing the upcoming PS5 tournaments, including the Coach Classic. As of the writing of this article, this was the last official communication from the development team regarding the issue.

Needless to say, this is a huge issue for MLB The Show 24. The game had already seen a number of issues since launch. Now, players are losing items they either spent hours grinding for or spent upwards of hundreds of dollars to acquire. It is hard in this situation not to think back to the Franchise save file problems Madden NFL had a few years ago. That issue caused players to lose their entire Franchise save files. Hopefully this situation will have a much happier resolution than that one did. We will update this story as more communication is released by SDS.

Update

Late Thursday night, players began reporting that their missing items and progress in Diamond Dynasty were starting to show back up in their accounts. Later that night, another post was made on the official MLB The Show X account.

It seems like this issue has been resolved, with players’ accounts being restored. Thankfully, it seems that the items will not be lost forever. If your account has not been restored yet, make sure to enter a support ticket on the MLB The Show website.
