We are just two short weeks away from the release of MLB The Show 25. Today, SDS revealed the new modes and changes coming to Diamond Dynasty in the new game. This included new modes Diamond Quest and Weekend Classic, changes to Team Affinity, and more!
Team Affinity
First up are the changes coming to Team Affinity. Now, instead of each drop having six programs, one for each division, there will now be 30 programs, one for each MLB team. Also, instead of brand new programs being added each drop, the existing programs will just be updated with new rewards being added.
Diamond Quest
One of the new modes being added to Diamond Dynasty is Diamond Quest. This is a new offline rogue like mode. Each time you enter the mode, a new game board will be generated. These boards will include things like moments, challenges, and three inning games. As you clear the board, you will unlock rewards. There will be certain points in the board where you will risk losing all the rewards you have earned on that board in order to earn more.
You can also earn perks or penalties during your run at Diamond Quest. You can earn Peanuts during games by making highlight plays and completing goals. You can spend those Peanuts to unlock perks. However, you can also find penalties on the game board that will cause you to change the strategy of your run.
Weekend Challenge
Weekend Challenge is the new home of the most high-stakes, competitive games in MLB The Show 25. Weekend Challenge will unlock during the final four days during each Ranked Season. The higher your rating in Ranked Seasons, the higher the division you will be in when Weekend Challenge begins.
Your first six games played in Weekend Challenge will give you the chance to earn the best rewards in all of Diamond Dynasty. If you go 6-0, you will be able to earn the very top rewards. After your six games, you can continue to play games to try and earn more rewards.
Program Changes
There have been a few changes to the existing programs within Diamond Dynasty. First, Sets and Seasons has been removed from the mode, and Inning Programs are making a comeback.
Spotlight Programs are replacing the Monthly Awards programs. These programs will come out weekly and monthly to celebrate the top performers throughout the MLB season. It is unclear if the structure of these programs will be different from how Monthly Awards programs were structured.
The previous BR, Events, and Ranked Seasons programs have all been combined into a single Multiplayer Program. Now, we players will be able to play the multiplayer mode of their choice to earn all of the multiplayer rewards that are offered.
Finally, new Legacy Programs will track your statistics as they accumulate in Diamond Dynasty. When you reach certain milestones, you’ll earn rewards to display your accomplishment.
