NHL 25 is just a few weeks away from its release. We have already heard about the gameplay and Franchise changes coming to the newest entry in the series. Today, EA Sports dropped all the information about the updates coming to HUT in NHL 25.
HUT Wildcard
This year, HUT is introducing a brand-new mode. The new HUT Wildcard mode will introduce new challenges and rulesets for players to tackle. These challenges will change on a regular basis, so players will have to constantly be adjusting their playstyle in order to earn rewards. These rulesets can include things like salary caps or requiring a specific player be included in your lineup.
In HUT Wildcard, you will only be able to use a set amount of players from your collection. The rest of your squad will be made up of a preset of selected players. Each Wildcard season will change how many players from your squad you can bring into the games. HUT Wildcard games can be played either online or offline, so all players will have a chance to earn the rewards from this mode.
Revamped Progression
HUT in NHL 25 will feature a more streamlined process of earning rewards. Whether you are playing Squad Battles or Wildcard, you will still be earning progress towards major rewards. HUT will now have a single XP Progression Path for all modes. No matter where you earn XP in HUT, it will be put towards this XP Progression Path and the rewards included in it. This could include packs, coins, more XP, and more.
Reworked Card Tiers
NHL 25 will have a new system for the tiers each card falls into. Now cards 74 OVR and below will be Bronze, cards 75-79 OVR will be Silver, and cards 80+ OVR will be Gold. This will let each league to be better represented in the mode. X-Factor cards are returning for NHL 25. Now, some X-Factor cards will have their AP cost discounted as well.
