PGA Tour 2K21 Details Revealed

PGA Tour 2K21

When PGA Tour 2K21 launches on August 21, it’s going to feature more PGA Tour licensing than the former The Golf Club series ever had, and come with a number of brand new features.

This year’s game will feature 12 PGA Tour pros, including the game’s cover athlete Justin Thomas. Each pro within the game will be a challenge for players within the game’s PGA Tour Career Mode that will have you vying to become a FedExCup Champion.

Other modes will include Play Now with a variety of rules as well as both local and online multiplayer, including matches such as Alt-Shot, Stroke Play, Skins, and 4-Player Scrambles. Online Societies also returns, allowing players to create their own tours with full custom schedules and tournaments.

The MyPlayer system that 2K Sports has become known for across its titles makes its debut within the game, and features a number of new equipment and clothing from brands such as Under Armour, Adidas, Bridgestone, Callaway, TaylorMade, and more.

Obviously, the first concern many will have upon hearing that news will be the game’s microtransactions, which is another thing 2K Sports has become known for. While the game will feature the VC system that is in games like WWE 2K and NBA 2K, the studio promises that all items can be unlocked within the game without the need for making additional purchases. Those unlocks, according to 2K, will be cosmetic in nature with no pay-to-win abilities.

In addition to the PGA Tour pros, PGA Tour 2K21 will include 15 officially licensed courses, including TPC Sawgrass. Each course was recreated by the development team at HB Studios using specialized scanning technology to bring accurate fairways, bunks, trees, greens, and more to the game. Outside of the licensed courses, the game will feature the popular Course Designer that The Golf Club games has been known for.

From a presentation standpoint, PGA Tour 2K21 will introduce a full broadcast-style presentation to the series with Luke Elvy and Rich Beem providing commentary.

Lastly, the game will be accessible for players of all skill levels. Lower-skilled players will be able to take advantage of an in-depth tutorial system while more experienced players will have newer features to provide more of a challenge.

PGA Tour 2K21 launches this summer for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Google Stadia.
