The MLB Postseason is in full swing now with the divisional series currently underway. With the playoffs comes new Postseason cards. This week, MLB The Show 22 introduces this year’s Postseason Program, which will be updated through the playoffs with new cards from the players who make the most of the spotlight. This week’s content update also includes the third version of the Home Run Derby X cards and a new event.
The first week of the new Postseason Program features players who showed up in the Wild Card series despite their teams being eliminated. The newest cards are:
- Rays CF Jose Siri (96 OVR)
- Cardinals RF Juan Yepez (97 OVR)
- Mets CF Brandon Nimmo (98 OVR)
- Blue Jays RF Teoscar Hernandez (99 OVR)
This reward path also includes a couple of “Classic” Postseason cards from previous playoff heroes. These throwbacks are:
- 2020 Postseason White Sox C Yasmani Grandal (96 OVR)
- 2021 Postseason Cardinals 2B Tommy Edman (98 OVR)
This Postseason Program will be updated throughout the playoffs this year. Each round new players from this year, and hopefully previous years as well, will be added to the program for players to grind for. This will look similar to the setup to this year’s Monthly Awards Programs.
With the new Postseason Program comes the new Postseason Event. This event has players competing in 3-inning games on All-Star difficulty. 15 wins in the event will earn players 99 OVR Retro Finest Orel Hershiser. 20 wins rewards players a 99 OVR Retro Finest Tom Henke, and 30 wins will get them 99 OVR Retro Finest Paul Konerko.
