Codemasters and Deep Silver announced the introduction of the brand new My Team mode coming to F1 2020.
My Team mode introduced for F1 2020
This new driver-manager experience allows players to experience F1 as their own 11th team on the grid alongside the established 2020 driver line-up. In My Team, players acquire sponsors, create drivers, and assemble 2019 F2 drivers before becoming a complete F1 team. From there, managers are challenged with handling media, managing drivers and propelling their team to victory.
The journey begins with creating a driver. Then, players brand their virtual identity by picking liveries, color schemes, and team logo. From there, key sponsors need to be signed. Players begin with fewer resources and limited equipment. Of course, facilities improve and grow as teams advance and achieve steady success.
My Team also focuses on off-track activities. This includes but is not limited to:
- Allocating appropriate time for preparation tasks throughout the week
- Managing staff activities
- Generating funds and keeping moral high
- Weighing sponsor related events against driver improvement options
My Team also allows players to negotiate the driver market. To be successful, they’ll need to compare F1 and F2 drivers based on Experience, Racecraft, Awareness and Pace, alongside their market value. Stats and driver skills have built using real-world data from the past five F1 and F2 seasons. Drivers receive stat updates during the season delivered directly into the game based on their 2020 real-world race performances.
F1 2020 releases Friday, July 10 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. Players who purchase the F1 2020 Deluxe Michael Schumacher Edition also receive exclusive content and three days early access starting on July 7.
