F1 23 is revving up to be released later this summer, but not much has been said about the game from EA or developer Codemasters. However, thanks to an exclusive piece from our ex-managing editor, Mike Straw, we now know that Codemasters’ next F1 game is set to add some new features to this year’s game.

F1 23 New features

According to Mike Straw of Insider Gaming, F1 23 will introduce a new online mode called F1 World. This new feature will encompass all of F1‘s online aspects in one place. We don’t know much about F1 World, but I’m sure Codemasters will enlighten us ahead of the game’s release.

New Upgrade Car System

Codemasters is implementing a new upgrade car system in F1 23. Players will earn parts that change their vehicle’s attributes. These upgrades can be earned by winning races, completing challenges, and meeting race conditions. According to Mike Straw’s report, the points players earn is called Tech Points.

As players compete, win races, earn money and tech points, strategists and sponsors will become available to join your team.

What else is coming to F1 23?

F1‘s story-driven career mode, Breaking Point, returns after missing out on last year’s game. So far, not much is known about this new story, but I’m sure Codemasters will bring the same quality of storytelling and gameplay to its newest racer.

In addition to Breaking Point, supercars are also making a return. However, there are no new additions to this feature. One of the weirdest bits of news we got from this article is that customizable livery will not be in this year’s game. I say “weird” because, usually, car customization is an essential part of any racing game. Unfortunately, players will have to make do with the existing livery in the F1 23.

Lastly, Codemasters will have two prelaunch closed betas. The first will take place from April 28 to May 1. The second will be on May 19 to 22. If you want to know how you can participate in these beta playtest, you can visit EA’s F1 23 website here.
