NASCAR Rivals Launching In October – Rumor

NASCAR Rivals

The next NASCAR video game for the Nintendo Switch seemingly has a name and release date. According to a store posting on Amazon, Motorsport Games is set to launch NASCAR Rivals in October.

With a date listed of October 14, the date lines up with Motorsport Games updated road map that was announced in the spring regarding the future of the NASCAR license. According to the post, the game will cost $49.99. There are no other details from the page, but that should come in the coming weeks as things are updated and confirmed.

One thing to note is that the NASCAR Rivals game has nothing to do with the upcoming 2022 season expansion launch for NASCAR 21: Ignition. That will be for those with the game on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The Switch NASCAR titles will apparently remain a separate ecosystem due to the lower-powered hardware that the hybrid console uses. At least for the the time being, that is.

SGO has reached out to Motorsport Games for confirmation and comment on if NASCAR Rivals is, in fact, the name of the next game for the Switch. Should a response be received, the story will be adjusted accordingly.
