EAFC 25 news is in full swing. After releasing a deep dive into the gameplay, EA Sports has revealed new details about its newest gameplay feature, 5v5 Rush.
What is 5v5 Rush?
On Monday, EA Sports released its second deep dive detailing 5v5 Rush and more new features coming to EAFC 25.
Rush, the new 5v5 game mode, is set to bring a unique experience to EAFC 25. Replacing Volta Football, Rush will be available in Kick-off, Career Mode, Ultimate Team, and Clubs. What makes this mode stand out is its played on a smaller pitch with unique rules, offering a different challenge from a typical football match.
Each match will start with a ball dropping in the middle of the pitch for players to compete to gain possession. In addition, players can only be offside in their attacking third in Rush.
Blue cards have also been introduced to EA Sports FC for the first time in series history. Similar to hockey, players who make a dangerous tackle will issued a blue card and temporarily suspended from the match.
Lastly, Rush will feature a dribble-up penalty shootout. Some younger football fans might now know what this is, but I’ll fill you in. In the late 90s, the MLS used to have a different way of settling penalties, which involved players dribbling up to the keep to take a shot rather than shooting from a dead ball. This feature will indeed cause some chaotic moments in EA Sports FC 25.
Changing modes
As stated earlier, 5v5 Rush will be implemented into Career Mode, Ultimate Team, and Clubs in EAFC 25.
In Ultimate Team, players can transfer footballers from their personal club to compete in 5v5 matches, which makes the mode, as the developers described it, “more personal.”
In Clubs, Rush brings a new progression system that will allow players to compete for new Clubs rewards.
In Career Mode, the 5v5 mode has been integrated into the youth academy. Players can develop youth products through 5v5 tournaments, giving players more control over youth development.
