The 10th anniversary of The Game Awards was a night with some surprises. Not only did we see the return of The Witcher series, but we also got to see a new soccer title being developed by the SIFU creators. However, the soccer news didn’t stop there, in surprising fashion, EA Sports FC 25 won the Best Sports/ Racing category.
EAFC 25 wins Best Sports/ Racing Game
For the first time ever, a FIFA/ EAFC title won the Best Sports/ Racing category at The Game Awards. EA Sports football title has been nominated for ten years straight and has yet to win the award until Thursday night.
EAFC 25 beat out F1 24, WWE 2K24, NBA 2K25, and TopSpin 2K25 to win the award. With so many potential winners, many were surprised by TGA’s choice to go with EA’s football title. Some X users have stated how weird it was that College Football didn’t receive a nomination and that EAFC doesn’t deserve the award given the other nominees.

EA Sports FC 25 has taken the award home, but we should mention that it’s our highest-reviewed EAFC game over the last 4 years. The game does bring some new features that improve multiple modes and it promises a bright future for the franchise. You can check out our full review below:
