A few football titles are plotting to compete against EAFC for football supremacy. The one game that is the closest in comparison to EA’s football title is Stikerz Inc’s UFL. However, after two closed beta events, the developers have decided to delay the game until early December.
UFL Delay
Since the game’s announcement in 2021, UFL has received a few delays during its development, once in 2023 and another in early 2024, followed by the game’s first closed beta.
Strikerz Inc posted a blog post on its website announcing that UFL will be delayed until December 5, 2024. So fans will have to wait an extra two months before getting their hands on the game.
According to the game’s website, Strikerz Inc. stated that UFL needed to improve in areas “related to polishing and fine-tuning the features that contribute to the game’s overall feel.”
UFL quick rundown
UFL is an online football game that utilizes a FIFA Ultimate Team-like formula. You can purchase players and managers with the game’s in-game currency and play through ranked-based divisions. Unfortunately, the game won’t have offline modes at launch, but the game will add post-launch content for fans to enjoy.
What do we think of UFL so far?
We played UFL during its second beta phase, and even though we liked some of the game’s features, it was apparent that Strikerz Inc.’s football title needed a little bit more time in development.
“I wouldn’t say that UFL is threatening EAFC‘s throne, but it is a free alternative for players into the competitive side of football games. I think UFL is set to give eFootball a run for its money since the games are in similar positions. Both games are free-to-play with a heavy focus on eSports and team building.”
