eFootball 2022 has received some negative comments from fans for multiple reasons over the last couple of weeks. Some fans are worried about the future of eFooball after Konami announced the game would be free-to-play, and would not feature beloved offline modes like Master League at launch. Last week, we got our first look at eFootball’s gameplay trailer and some of the new features coming to the game. eFootball 2022 hasn’t changed much since its jump to the Unreal 4 engine, but some in-game features look promising.
However, new leaked footage of eFootball has surfaced; the Chinese YouTube channel, Great Game, has uploaded an eleven-minute-long video showcasing eFootball 2022 leaked gameplay footage. The leaked gameplay has led some fans to leave negative comments about the state of the eFootball 2022 on YouTube.

The first thing about the footage that stood out was the select screen, cut scenes, and the overall look. It’s the same game as the performance demo we got to play last June, just a better-looking version of it. The footage features a friendly match between English clubs Manchester United and Arsenal. Many criticisms come at gameplay issues like strange collisions, frame rate drops, and ball physics. PES Modder, Durandil PES has compiled a list of issues on his Twitter page.

I don’t think much has changed regarding eFootball 2022’s gameplay; The game still looks like eFootball PES 2021, and it looks like its running on Konami’s Fox engine and not the Unreal 4 engine. However, the game is still one month away from release, and Konami still has time to resolve any underlining issues. Hopefully, some of the issues fans are complaining about get resolved before the launch of eFootball 2022. A rocky launch would be detrimental to the player base of eFootball given that FIFA 22 comes out the day after.
