Electronic Arts and FIFA have officially ended their nearly thirty-year relationship. The next step for FIFA (the football governing body) has yet to be announced, but the company could find alternative ways to license its football brand. A recent rumor suggests that 2K could make a move for a massive FIFA licensing deal.
The information below is a rumor and should be treated as such.

FIFA in talks with 2K
According to the FIFA news page, FUTZone, FIFA, and 2K have had ongoing discussions about marketing for a new football title. While this is a rumor, we’ve speculated who the football governing body could acquire next and what kind of product would be the outcome.
The most likely project the NBA 2K publisher could be working on is a non-simulation football title starring the world’s largest toy firm, Lego. Last year, 2K and Lego struck a multi-game deal to develop three sports, one being a football title developed by Sumo Digital.
However, the details of these talks have yet to surface, so we don’t know if 2K will develop a non-simulation title or opt for its traditional sports take. A simulation football title seems unlikely because the NBA 2K publisher doesn’t own the right to FIFPro, which would ensure player likenesses, clubs, stadiums, etc.
