World Series Cards Arrive in MLB The Show 22

The 2022 MLB season is officially in the books, as the Houston Astros are your World Series Champions! It was a great series featuring crazy fans, a no-hitter, and tons of home runs. Now that the series has wrapped up, the final cards have been added to the Postseason Program in MLB The Show 22. Both teams received several cards based on the players that showed up on the biggest stage. This content drop also features some classic Postseason cards, a new Takashi legend, and a new Takashi Collection.

The final update to the Postseason Program in MLB The Show 22 features 20 new cards for players to grind towards. The NL Champion Philadelphia Phillies got 7 new cards in the program:

  • 1B Rhys Hoskins (99 OVR)
  • LF Kyle Schwarber (99 OVR)
  • CF Brandon Marsh (98 OVR)
  • SP Ranger Suarez (99 OVR)
  • RP Seranthony Dominguez (98 OVR)
  • 3B Alec Bohm (98 OVR)
  • RF Bryce Harper (99 OVR)

As for the new World Series Champions, the Houston Astros got 9 new cards in the program:

  • LF Yordan Alvarez (99 OVR)
  • SS Jeremy Pena (99 OVR)
  • CF Chas McCormick (98 OVR)
  • SP Framber Valdez (99 OVR)
  • SP Cristian Javier (99 OVR)
  • 1B Yuli Gurriel (98 OVR)
  • CP Ryan Pressly (99 OVR)
  • 3B Alex Bregman (99 OVR)
  • RP Bryan Abreu (98 OVR)

Along with the players from this year’s series, there are three classic Postseason cards are in the reward path. The three new 99 OVR classic cards are:

  • 2017 Astros CF George Springer
  • 2019 Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg
  • 2020 Braves RF Jorge Soler

But that isn’t all for this year’s Postseason Program. One more card was added featuring one of the greatest Postseason players of all-time. Mr. October himself Reggie Jackson is in the program with a 99 OVR Takashi series card.

Takashi Okazaki Collection

The new Reggie Jackson card comes at the perfect time as the new Takashi Okazaki series collection was added into the game today. The new collection requires players to earn 26 Takashi series cards in order to unlock 99 OVR Takashi series Shohei Ohtani.

Always Intense Bundle

There is also a new bundle in The Show Shop. The Always Intense Bundle includes one pack from each of the two sets of Always Intense packs. The bundle costs 20,000 stubs and is limited to only 2 per player.
