2K Shutting Down WWE 2K19 & WWE 2K20 Servers

WWE 2K19 WWE 2K22

You read that headline correctly. Despite ongoing activity across the former of the two games, 2K announced it will be shutting down the servers for WWE 2K19 and WWE 2K20.

WWE 2K19 & WWE 2K20 server shutdown

2K took to Twitter to officially announce the shutdown of WWE 2K19 and 2K20 servers. You can see the official tweet below.

As the tweet notes, server the shutdown means all online functions, including community creations, will no longer be available. The pitched idea here being all these resources will then be moved to supporting WWE 2K22. Given its disastrous launch, not many will blink at the loss of WWE 2K20. However, WWE 2K19 held its ground well into the launch of WWE 2K22. And while the newer 2K22 is not a bad game, it does lack a lot of which made 2K19 so great. From features like Advanced Entrance Creation to general overall polish as a product, WWE 2K19 has been placed in high regard by many. This goes double for popular community creators. 2K19 also had a buzzing modding scene during its tenure. Unfortunately, while many hope to see the same thing with WWE 2K22, recent updates have seen modded items removed from community creations and files changed making it increasingly difficult to produce modding tools. Those who still wish to play 2K19 on PC can still set up their mods offline, but those relying on community creations will need to grab what they can as soon as possible. The sunsetting of the servers goes into effect June 30.
