Back in August when the last trailer for WWE 2K22 was revealed, 2K Sports announced that no more information would be coming until January 2022. The company even doubled down on that when rumors started floating about a November news push.

“We don’t currently have any plans to announce anything before January,” Al Stavola, Senior Manager of Global Communications at 2K, told SGO back in October when asked.

However, that wasn’t ultimately the case as 2K Sports announced a number of new features coming to WWE 2K22. That lead to questions as to why would the company say nothing was coming only to do an about face with new WWE 2K22 information just weeks later?

Well, according to the company, the decision came after talking to SGO to debunk prior rumors.

The company had meetings after things started to leak out a bit. The team felt that the game was in such a good place and the team was excited enough about the game that they didn’t want to wait much longer.

“We feel very confident in the quality of this game and the innovations the developers at Visual Concepts are bringing to the table,” 2K Sports told SGO.

WWE 2K22 launches March 2022. The game will feature a new MyGM and MyFaction modes along with a number of overhauled gameplay features.
