WWE 2K Battlegrounds Full Roster Revealed

WWE 2K Battlegrounds choke slam

IGN dropped in from the rafters this afternoon with the exclusive roster reveal for 2K’s upcoming arcade wrestling game, WWE 2K Battlegrounds. Among the 70plus WWE superstars included at launch are phenomenal wrestlers like Finn Balor and AJ Styles. IGN shared a short clip of the two wrestlers’ finishers in 2K Battlegrounds on their twitter account.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds is 2K’s take on the arcade wrestling genre, a dramatic style change from the yearly WWE 2K franchise. The game is developed by Saber Interactive, who has experience in the arcade sport space after working on the NBA Playground games. 2K Games announced in April they would be taking a year off to better develop the next WWE 2K title. This announcement came in response to WWE 2K20’s critically bad reception. Our own Kevin Finley called it “one of the most broken games in the franchise” in our review, giving the game a 4/10.

The game’s cast of characters is huge–69 wrestlers if you pre-order the game–and will nearly double in size once all of the post-launch characters are available. WWE 2K Battlegrounds really highlights the depth of WWE’s historical and expansive roster. Legends like Daniel Bryan, The Rock, the late Eddie Guerrero and “Macho Man” Randy Savage can share the ring with Finn Balor, Becky Lynch and many more.

We’ll include the full list of characters below, but 2K has made a handy graphic that separates release and post-release characters.
