WWE 2K22 Microtransactions Addressed by 2K Sports

WWE 2K22 Microtransactions

Back in late October, it was discovered via a publicly accessible website that WWE 2K22 was going to feature microtransactions in some way or form. Luckily for players, there doesn’t appear to be much cause for concern if you were worried about a pay-to-win system.

During a special media briefing, representatives from 2K Sports spoke on the topic when going over some of the new features coming to this year’s game.

2K Sports said that while microtransactions and Virtual Currency (VC) will be a part of WWE 2K22, they will not impactive the gameplay experience.

“It will not give anyone any sort of competitive advantage,” a rep said.

To add to it, VC will only be a part, according to 2K itself, within the game’s new MyFaction mode. Though more details on what they’ll be for wasn’t given, it could be assumed that it will be for cosmetic purposes only. If it does unlock anything, having it happen within a single-player mode should keep people from getting too upset about their inclusion.

“Everything in WWE 2K22 can be unlocked and earned by playing the game,” the company said.

WWE 2K22 launches in March 2022, and features a number of new modes and improvements, including the debuting MyGM mode.
