It has been a busy week for the Madden NFL series. Earlier this week, we found out during the Nintendo Direct that the series would be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 once the new console releases. This will be Madden’s first appearance on a Nintendo console since Madden NFL 13 made the only appearance for the series on the Wii U. Now, we have gotten word that there will be a new announcer in the game when Madden NFL 26 releases.
Scott Hanson Comes to Madden NFL
This week, Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports reported that Scott Hanson, the popular host of NFL RedZone, will become “… the new in-game voice for EA Sports Madden NFL 26.” It is expected that Hanson will replace Jonathan Coachman, who had been the voice you hear when entering a game, as well as during the halftime show. We don’t know exactly what Hanson’s full role will be in the game yet.
This will be the second year in a row that Madden has made some changes to its in-game voices. Last year, two new commentary teams were added to the game. The first featured Mike Tirico and Greg Olsen, while the other consisted of Kate Scott and Brock Huard. These two teams were added in addition to the traditional team of Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis, which had provided the in-game commentary for several years.
We don’t know yet who will be featured on commentary in Madden NFL 26. This year’s entry is likely to be revealed sometime this summer as it has in the past. We should learn more then about what new features are coming to the latest game in the series. If this timeline holds again this year, we can also expect the game to come out sometime in August.
Who would you like to see added as an analyst or commentator to the Madden NFL series?
