Nike Partners With EA Sports to Bring .SWOOSH to Upcoming Sports Titles

As we start heading into the summer months, news on EA Sports’ most significant sports games, like Madden NFL 24 and EA Sports FC, will be announced. However, Electronic Arts set the tone by striking a new deal with Nike Virtual Creations to bring an authentic and immersive experience to EA’s sports games.

In a press release on Nike’s website, the clothing company announced its latest deal with gaming powerhouse Electronic Arts. The partnership between both companies will allow Nike’s virtual creation feature “.SWOOSH” to be available in upcoming EA Sports titles. The clothing company didn’t reveal many details about the deal, but we know that the aim is to give players unique new opportunities for self-expression and creativity through sport and style.  

“All of us at EA SPORTS are focused on leading the next evolution in sports fandom, and this new collaboration with our longtime partners at Nike sits directly at the intersection of innovation, sport, and culture,” said Andrea Hopelain, SVP of Brand for EA SPORTS & Racing. 

“Working with .SWOOSH, we’ll bring creativity and self-expression to the forefront for fans as they connect, compete and share their love for sport.”

Many of EA Sports’ games have licensed Nike products in them already, so it’s nice to see an emphasis on bringing more authenticity.

.SWOOSH sounds like it will be a creation engine inside of EA’s upcoming sports titles. This could mean more options for in-depth customization for games like Madden, EA Sports FC, and NHL.
