In a surprise stream on Wednesday afternoon, Sony officially revealed the full technical specs of its upcoming PlayStation 5 (PS5) console.

The full specs of the console are below courtesy of Digital Foundry.

In the “deep dive” lead system architect Mark Cerny confirmed the PS5 will have backwards compatibility with PS4 games, but made no mention of the system supporting PS3, PS2, or PS1 titles. In comparison, the Xbox Series X will support all generations of Xbox games at the console’s launch.

No price or release date was confirmed by the company, but it’s rumored that it will cost $499 with a November 2020 launch date. There was also no mention of when fans might get their first look at the system itself.
