There’s been several leaks over the past weeks regarding the new Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles. The latest leak regarding the two consoles may have revealed which console will perform better, and Sony fans should be pretty happy about the news.

PS5 and Xbox Series X Comparison

CPU PS5 = XSX
GPU PS5 < XSX (less the 1TF)
RAM PS5 > XSX (BW and size)
SSD PS5 > XSX (Speed and size)
Performance PS5 > XSX

This is what info i have gathered over the last few weeks. Final dev kits for PS5 are out.

Here is when early access kicks off for EAFC 24

A Twitter user by the name of “Tidux” did a comparison of the two consoles in order to see which console will be the better performer. Let’s start with the CPU, as Tidux said that based off of the data that the leaker has gathered over the past few weeks, the two are essentially comparable.

Next up is the GPU. Tidux claimed that the Xbox Series X GPU will perform better than the PS5’s GPU, but not by much. Tidux wrote that, contrast to previous reports, there is only a one teraflop difference between the two, and not a three teraflop difference that was previously claimed.

While the Xbox Series X GPU is reportedly better than the PS5’s GPU, the same can’t be said about the RAM. According to the leaker, the PS5 has larger memory allocation than the Xbox Series X. In addition, the RAM of the Playstation 5 is faster than the Xbox Series X RAM. Lastly, Tidux also claims that the SSD for the Playstation 5 is twice as fast as the Xbox Series X’s SSD.

Even though the GPU for the Xbox Series X is stronger, Tidux claimed that because of the faster SSD and the stronger RAM, the PS5 will be the better performing console. There’s also one other piece of info that Tidux leaked out, and that involved the devkits. According to the leaker, the final devkits for the Playstation 5 are now out.
