Many gamers would say that 2023 has been an excellent year for video games. Over the last 12 months, so many awesome games have come out, and The Game Awards are set to celebrate this achievement. The 2023 Game Awards will most likely be dominated by games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom. However, we are focusing on the Best Sports/ Racing game category. You can check out the nominees of this category below:

- Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged (SGO Review)
- The Crew Motorfest
As you can tell, only one ‘sports’ game makes this nominations list. This list seems to be dominated by racing games and not enough ‘sports’ representation every year.
Writers Opinion: Category Winner
F1 23 and Forza Motorsport are the front runners in this category because of their uniqueness. In our SGO review of EA’s F1 game, we highlighted the fantastic and realistic driving mechanics. However, Forza Motorsport is the most aesthetically pleasing racing game on the market. Everything about Turn 10’s new Forza game is beautiful, from the cars to the sound and the tracks.
