It’s that time of year again when Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards recognizes excellence in the video game industry. This year, the TGA nominations were dominated by ASTRO BOT, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Metaphor: ReFantazio. However, here on Sports Gamers Online, we like to focus on the Best Sports/ Racing category. Here are the nominees for the Best Sports/ Racing Game for The Game Awards 2024.

Over the last three years, the awards have been handed out to racing games, most notably the Forza series. However, this year’s list is dominated by EA and 2K Sports. The Top Spin series receives its first TGA nomination after a well-received return to the game space.
EA Sports F1 series gets its fifth consecutive nomination and is a likely frontrunner for the awards. WWE 2K is nominated for the first time in show history. Who do you think will win this year’s category?
The biggest snub?
Arguably the biggest snub this year in the Best Sports/ Racing category is EA Sports College Football 25. It was the first college football game to come out in nearly 11 years and was received well by critics and fans alike.
The game gave football fans a different experience compared to Madden and captured the excitement and atmosphere of college football. You can check out our review of the game here.
College Football 25 is everything fans have been wanting in a football game and then some. This game sets a new standard for the level of immersion and depth in both gameplay and in game modes like Dynasty and Road to Glory.
