This week, four of the best MLB The Show 24 players in the world will make their way to St. Petersburg, Florida to compete in the Tampa Bay Rays Sunburst Invitational Championship. These four are the winners of the qualifiers tournaments that took place over the summer. Now these four will square off to see who walk away with the top prize and the title of Sunburst Invitational Champion.

Meet the Competitors

The first player in this week’s finals is Frostie. The 20-year old went undefeated in the first qualifying tournament to secure the first spot in the finals. Frostie set the tone early with his dominant performance, and could very well be considered the favorite going into this week’s games.

The second qualifier is AlexGaKill. Alex didn’t have the undefeated run that Frostie did in his qualifier. Alex actually found himself down to his final strike in the Championship round of his qualifier. However, he was able to clutch up, come from behind and secure his spot in St. Petersburg. No matter what happens this week, make sure you don’t count AlexGaKill out until there are three outs.

The third qualifier is probably the most recognizeable name of the four players. Kriner is a multi-time MLB The Show Circuit Champion and is one of the best competitive MLB The Show players of all-time. Looking at his resume, it would be hard to bet against Kriner taking home the title.

The final qualifier for this week’s competition is GoatRP. GoatRP is another seasoned competitive MLB The Show player, who has made deep runs in several previous tournaments. GoatRP won the fourth qualifier to secure the final spot in Florida this week.

Sunburst Championship

The Sunburst Invitational is a MLB The Show tournament put on by the Tampa Bay Rays. This tournament started last year, and was immediately popular among MLB The Show fans. This year’s tournament has built off of that popularity, seeing an increase in both participation and viewership compared to last year’s event. This year’s tournament also expanded from two qualifying tournaments to four, doubling the opportunities for players to earn a spot in St. Petersburg.

The semifinals for the Sunburst Championship will get underway at 12PM ET on Thursday. The finals will take place on Friday at 2PM ET. All games this week can be seen on the Rays Baseball Gaming Twitch and TikTok channels. The broadcasts for the semifinals and finals will be hosted by MLB The Show content creators ScuffyMcgee and DaddyDimmuTV.
