Bench
Moments: Russell Westbrook (Amethyst) – 25K
HT: 6’3″
WT: 200 Lbs.
This makes the third MVP candidate to make the team. Westbrook is the king of the “rush down court before the defense can set” cheese in real life AND in-game. This version has a serviceable jumpshot, especially if given a shoe to compensate the three-pointer. And honestly, Westbrook is just downright annoying to guard online.
Note: If you prefer a better shooting option at point then you can get Amethyst Terrell Brandon instead.
Events: Kevin Martin (Amethyst) – 10K
HT: 6’7″
WT: 210 Lbs.
Slap the baby blue Jordan XI Pantones on this card and you’re now in control of a weapon of mass destruction. The boost to his ball control and acceleration allow him to speed boost like a small guard, and he has the easiest dribble animations to trigger it. To be fair, this card might randomly come off the bench and carry you for a stretch. He’s a bit of a hidden gem as far as scoring goes.
Moments: Kawhi Leonard (Amethyst) – 20K
HT: 6’7″
WT: 220 Lbs.
Since K-Mart is more of a dedicated bench bucket getter, Kawhi brings a good balance of offense along with what he’s there for (to clamp these trash peasants up). This also makes the 4th MVP candidate on the team, and it’s pretty cool that an affordable team can assemble almost all the best versions of them.
Game Breakers: Kenyon Martin (Amethyst) – 20K
HT: 6’9″
WT: 225 Lbs.
This is the other K-Mart. The goon that no forward online wants the heat from. He’s one of the best picks for a bench power forward simply because of his versatility. He’s pretty unique for the amethyst tier. He has a good mid-range and the potential to be consistent from three with a shoe, his rebounding and vertical is near maxed out, his finishing around the rim is straight vicious, he’s a good help defender at the rim, and is even as fast as the average small forward. This is the Michael Jordan of Draymond Greens.
Moments: Hassan Whiteside (Amethyst) – 20K
HT: 7’0″
WT: 265 Lbs.
Shoutout to Young Whiteside and his NBA 2K rating. If you prefer a bigger body at center then you could replace this card with Amethyst Dwight Howard. But this Whiteside card is a unique pick because of its mid-range shot. Moreover, his rim protection is some of the most savage I’ve seen this year. You know those disrespectful snatches out the air you see him get in highlights sometimes? He’s actually about that in-game.
Moments: Carmelo Anthony (Ruby) – 5K
HT: 6’8″
WT: 240 Lbs.
Whatever excess MT you have left, you can get whatever you feel your bench is lacking. This Melo is one of those “play better than the tier” cards so it’s one of the more fun options you could get for a couple thousand. Another option could be the Game Breaker Jamal Crawford.
Collector Level: Robert Horry (Sapphire) -100 Cards Collected
HT: 6’10”
WT: 230 Lbs.
If you have 250,000 MT, I think it’s safe to assume that you have at least 100 cards in your collection; it would honestly be kind of unbelievable if you didn’t. This sapphire Robert Horry is a legend of MyTEAM Online and I personally can’t count how many times he’s made a game winning play against me. He could swap in for amethyst Kenyon and hold up just fine, believe it or not. And just for the novelty, I love putting him in during close games.
Current: Raymond Felton (Silver) – 500
HT: 6’1″
WT: 205 Lbs.
This is the leader of your team and your good luck card. Before you start a game, pull up this card and say a short prayer to not run into any cheese or get a disconnection loss. Just like he does for the Clippers in real life, he will lead you to the promised land.
Note: if you have an extra 10K, it’s recommended that you get the emerald version instead.
