Leading up to the current-gen release of NBA 2K21, Visual Concepts announced that players’ ratings would be based off of last year’s NBA season. The NBA 2K team made this decision due to the strange nature of this year’s NBA season. The season had been delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and player ratings for each iteration of NBA 2K are based on an entire season’s worth of player stats. Now that the 2020 NBA season has finally ended, Visual Concepts has started revealing the new player ratings for NBA 2K21.

The NBA 2K Twitter account has been tweeting ratings pretty randomly throughout the day. Yesterday they confirmed that the new ratings would be updating on November 10. The ratings update will occur on both current and next-gen consoles. The ratings update coincides with NBA 2K21’s release on the Xbox Series S/X. This article will serve as a ratings round-up. Therefore, we’ll be sure to update the article as new players are revealed.

NBA 2K21 Ratings Updates

The NBA 2K team led with the King himself, Finals MVP LeBron James. James leads all players in NBA 2K21 with his 98 OVR rating. This is a coy admission that, for NBA 2K21, there is no 99 club. Fellow NBA Finals superstar Jimmy Butler was announced second, with an acknowledgement of his run and a 93 OVR.
