The market presence of 2K Sports is growing once again as the company has announced that it has acquired publishing rights for HB Studios’ The Golf Club 2019.
This isn’t the first time that 2K Sports will publish a golf game as they are the company behind the arcade game Outlaw Golf and Outlaw Golf 2. That said, this is the first time 2K Sports will be associated with a simulation golf title.
“Together, HB Studios, PGA TOUR, and 2K have joined forces as industry-leaders in sports, golf and gaming to deliver the deepest, most comprehensive virtual golf experience yet,” 2K Sports said in a release.
The game joins NBA Playgrounds 2 as the latest indie sports title to be picked up by 2K Sports.
The Golf Club 2019 is the first in the history of the franchise to feature the official PGA TOUR license. The game will feature a revamped career mode that takes players from qualifying events all the way through the PGA Tour. Also playable for the first time are a number of TPC courses including TPC Sawgrass and TPC Scottsdale.
The Golf Club 2019 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam via digital download. Physical copies of the game will be released later this fall.
