Sanders Ends EA Sports Relationship
On Tuesday, NFL Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders announced on his X account that he has ended his relationship with EA Sports and the Madden NFL franchise. The post included a trailer for Madden NFL 99 that featured Barry Sanders. The announcement seemed to come out of nowhere and left many fans sad to see one of the all-time best running backs exit the series. Sanders did not say why he was ending the partnership, though he did apologize to the fans that were expecting him to be in future games.

Sanders had been a prominent legend in Madden NFL for several years at this point. He even won a fan vote in 2014 to be on the cover of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Madden NFL 25. Ever since, Sanders has been a popular legend to use in MUT and other modes he was featured in.
This also leaves some doubt if Sanders will appear in the upcoming EA Sports College Football 25 game. We know that an Ultimate Team mode will be included in the new college football title. We assume that it will include legendary college football players in a similar way that MUT does. With Sanders ending his relationship with EA Sports as well as the Madden NFL series, it looks like one of the best college football players of all time will also be left out of the new game.
