For the past few days the Epic Games Store had been hinting towards a new free game. Sports gamers will be happy to know that this week’s free title is NBA 2K21. From now until May 27, 2K’s latest basketball offering will be available to download, free of charge, on PC.
Usually free titles from the Epic Games Store are teased a week out, but this one was kept under wraps.
For anyone holding off on buying NBA 2K21, or anyone new to the series, now is as good a time as any to give it a run. 2K21 received a mostly lukewarm reception from critics. As was the case with most sports games that came out last year, many saw it as a copy and paste of the previous year’s game while developers put most of their efforts into next-gen. Microtransactions and Park cheese are still rampant, but compared to other sports titles in this era 2K remains one of the better offerings.
NBA 2K21 still sports solid gameplay and offers the deepest franchise mode in sports gaming. Not to mention, MyCareer, which no other game has a comparable mode to.
