NBA 2K League Adds Four New Teams for Season 2

As Season One is coming to a close, the NBA 2K League has announced that four new NBA teams will be joining the league for Season Two. The Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks and Minnesota Timberwolves will become a part of the NBA 2K League as expansion teams.

NBA 2K League Managing Director Brendan Donohue said, “Welcoming these four world-class organizations and their passionate fanbases to the NBA 2K League is an exciting moment not only for the league, but for the entire 2K community… From their innovative spirit to their global reach, we know each of these teams will be a tremendous addition, and we are thrilled that this growth offers the opportunity for new players, coaches and support staff to join the league.”

The four new teams will join the 76ers, Blazers, Bucks, Celtics, Cavaliers, Grizzlies, Heat, Jazz, Kings, Knicks, Magic, Mavericks, Pacers, Pistons, Raptors, Warriors and Wizards. The league will now have a total of 21 teams in Season Two.

The NBA 2K League quarterfinals are on Friday, August 17, with the semifinals set to take place the following day. The best-of-three NBA 2K League Finals are slated for Saturday, August 25. Per 2K, “All competition is streamed live on Twitch and takes place from the NBA 2K League Studio Powered by Intel in New York City.”
