Given the video quality, not a ton can be gleaned from the trailer graphically. But you can see some added animations, like Sixers big man Joel Embiid diving into the stands. Unfortunately, the trailer is mostly a cinematic teaser. That said, with a release date not too far out we should be getting more substantive gameplay footage sooner rather than later. Also, you can never go wrong setting a trailer to Nas’ “Made You Look”.

It’s been eerily quiet around NBA 2K22 this year. Outside of some ratings reveals and a handful of pre-release Courtside Reports, there hasn’t been a ton to speak of in regards to the leading basketball sim.

On the second year of this console generation, many expect 2K22 to take another leap now that developers are more acquainted with their new hardware. NBA 2K21 was rebuilt for next gen systems and brought a massive undertaking like The City to life. Visually, 2K took a nice step forward as well, especially compared to other sports games. Still, most would anticipate a step up in that area too.

NBA 2K22 is available for pre-order across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Steam. Though PC gamers should know that their version of 2K22 will be the same as last gen’s.
