This Sunday, the best EA Sports NHL 24 players across North America will compete for a share of $15,000 in prize money, along with a spot in the EA Sports NHL 24 World Championship in April. This tournament is the culmination of a long esports season. Now, only one more tournament stands between these players and the World Championship. Meanwhile, across the ocean, one player has defended his European Championship title.
North American Championship
The EA Sports NHL 24 North American Championship tournament will take place at the NHL Flagship Store in New York City. The tournament is on Sunday, March 24th. The games will begin at 1pm ET, and will be broadcast on the NHL Twitch channel.
The tournament will feature the top eight EA Sports NHL 24 players from across North America. The players will be split into two groups of four. Each group will play a round robin. After the round robin, the top two players from each group will advance to the semifinals. The winner of the best of three semifinals will compete in the best of three championship round to crown the North American Champion. Both the champion and the runner up will also qualify for the EA Sports NHL 24 World Championship on April 7th.
This year’s group of finalists includes two former North American Champions. Regs won the 2022 North American Championship, as well as the 2020 Canadian Championship. Gren won the 2021 North American Championship and was the runner up to Regs in the 2022 North American Championship. The other finalists are Boogie, Deeks, Polgz, Sauceshow, Segween, and Sky is Taken.
European Champion
Meanwhile, Finnish competitior Eki has won his sixth EA Sports NHL 24 European Championship, as well as his fourth straight championship. The European Championship concluded March 17th, where Eki took down Temppanen to defend his title. Both of these players will take on the North American Champion and runner up in the EA Sports NHL 24 World Championship.
