Could a Game-Pass Equivalent Heading to Sony Consoles?

Sony PlayStation 5 Pro

Could a Game-pass like feature be coming to Sony? I’m not one for console wars. However, Xbox has been dominant when it comes to backward compatibility. Xbox has been preserving some of the more popular titles on the platform. There have been talks of PlayStation developing a similar game-pass-like feature. But what sports games would you like to see on it? Here is a list of games I would like to see.

Def Jam Fight for NY

A new Def Jam would be great. However, Def Jam nor EA seem to be interested in making another one. No matter, playing Def Jam Fight for NY again would be great. Playing as all-time great rappers with brutal wrestling moves has all the makings of a great game. Just imagine being able to play it online.

ESPN NFL 2K5

ESPN NFL 2K5 is widely regarded as one of the best football games of all time. Imagine if it is put on PS5. Despite the game being 17 years old, modders have kept the game alive by making the rosters modern. I believe it would be a good indicator of what should be in the eventual 2K football game.

Smackdown vs. Raw 2007

I was a bit torn between SvR 2006 and SvR 2007. Both games are incredible and are fan-favorites. Ultimately, I went with a 07 because of the career mode and control schemes. SvR 07 has incredible graphics and has aged surprisingly well. GM mode is deep and match options are plenty.

NFL Street 2

NFL Street 2 was one of my favorite games growing up. Running off the wall to make big grabs, flashy plays, and game-breakers make the game incredible. Though EA Big is no longer in business, maybe it could give EA a friendly nudge to bring the game back.

NBA 2K11

NBA 2K11 is one of the best NBA 2Ks of all time. The game has a fantastic MyCareer mode. The addition of the Jordan moments keep you coming back to the game. I remember playing it with my friends and being captivated by the graphics. It has not aged particularly well. However, it still does play well as it did 11 years ago.

Let us know what games you would like to see if Sony develops a game-pass-like feature.
