EA and NFL Renew Deal for Madden NFL Championship Series

NFL Championship Series

Esports has rapidly become one of the most popular sports on the planet. Games like Fortnite, Call of Duty, FIFA, and Madden are at the forefront of Esports entertainment. Electronic Arts aim to capitalize on the popularity of Esports by renewing a multi-million dollar deal with the NFL for the Madden Championship Series.

The agreement between the two companies comes off the heels of another successful season for Madden Esports, with the MCS 22 achieving a 4x broadcast increase for its average minute audience year-over-year. The recent renewal will ensure that the NFL and MCS deepen the fandom for esports and brings Madden and football fans together ahead of the Madden 23 release.

“Madden NFL esports continues to deepen the love of the game with fans, players, and viewers. It’s teaching viewers how to improve at the game, while deepening engagement with Madden’s most loyal fanbase,” said Brent Koning, Vice President of EA Esports.

“Since the MCS started five years ago, it has helped showcase the game by elevating the greatest players in the world, while giving every single Madden NFL player the chance to go from couch to champion. We can’t wait to see how the MCS 23 season unfolds.”

Upcoming Events for the Madden Championship Series

The Madden Championship Series 23 will kick off later this month, along with Madden 23 being released on August 23.
