How To Stop Throwing Interceptions In Madden 23

Madden 23 interceptions

What if I told you, it wasn’t your reads causing the panic picks under pressure? Sure, reads play a part but how close do you put your routes to each other?

When I was a beginner level player, I struggled designing passing plays where the routes were well spaced out.

I could scrape by beating most that I played online but when I challenged a competitive player, I lost by 50 and threw 2,452,125 picks. That competitive player is STILL catching picks on me from that game till this day.

So… how did I change my habits to become a champion on the pro scene?

The 3 Step Process To Stop Throwing Interceptions in Madden 23:

This was my staple “route combo” (competitive Madden terminology) in a $5,000 game of Madden. Note the space between ALL of my routes on the field.

Now take the time to think, are your routes as spaced out as this? Wouldn’t it be so much easier to complete open passes with route combos like this?

You don’t need to have 20/20 laser vision reads like Tom Brady to consistently score. You need to make it easy on yourself by setting yourself up to succeed PRE-snap with Madden’s 12 fundamental tips (not e-book money plays).

The double hitch and post (what you see above) is one of the 12 fundamentals you can use to set yourself up for success pre-snap. The rest rely on the same 3 rules for avoiding interceptions.

Best part?

Not only will you avoid interceptions in Madden 23, but you will fly down the field and DOUBLE your passing yards. Start strategizing now on how you can avoid grouping your routes together so when the pressure SCREAMS, you can calmly decide which of the 2-3 open wide receivers to throw to.
