Madden 17 Top Ten Sleeper Pass Rushers

Welcome to another Madden 17 Top 10 Sleeper article. Today we’re looking at the guys paid the big bucks to get after the quarterback the edge pass rushers.

  1. Yannick Ngakoue (Jacksonville Jaguars)

21 Years Old
72 Overall
81 Speed
85 Acceleration
82 Finesse Move

The first thing you will notice is at 21 years old, Ngakoue is one of the youngest players in the game. He has above average athleticism with 81 speed, 84 agility and 85 acceleration and has a good finesse move rating of 82, which is a great starting point. The only obvious weakness he has to start is his block shed rating, which is 69, so I would work this up before starting on his other ratings.

  1. Aaron Wallace (Tennessee Titans)

23 Years Old
64 Overall
86 Speed
88 Acceleration
76 Power Move

In Madden, speed kills, and Wallace has plenty of it. In fact, he’s one of the fastest linebackers in the game. He has average pass rush moves to build up in order for the 23 year old to turn into a nightmare around the edge.

  1. Robert Nkemdiche (Arizona Cardinals)

21 Years Old
75 Overall
81 Strength
86 Acceleration
79 Finesse Move

For a 296lb dude Nkemdiche can move; he has 86 agility and 86 acceleration, which paired with 81 strength makes for a nice combination. And you can go either way with his pass rushing moves, both being average to above average.

  1. Noah Spence (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

22 Years Old
71 Overall
80 Speed
80 Strength
87 Acceleration

Spence has a pretty balanced line of 80 speed, 80 strength and 87 acceleration, and paired with 80 finesse move and 78 block shed makes him a day 1 starter for your team. I mean, he even has 86 hit power if you feel like knocking a running back out.

  1. Randy Gregory (Dallas Cowboys)

23 Years Old
75 Overall
84 Speed
88 Acceleration
83 Finesse Move

Despite his extracurricular activities that might get him kicked out the league; Gregory as presented has elite potential as a speed rusher. At 23 years old, he has 84 speed, 88 acceleration and 83 finesse move making him a great option to build up on your defensive line.

  1. Kevin Dodd (Tennessee Titans)

24 Years Old
72 Overall
85 Acceleration
80 Finesse Move
82 Block Shed

Dodd isn’t the fastest guy on the list, but don’t sleep on him. With 77 Power Move, 80 Finesse and 82 Block Shed, he’s above average in all 3 categories, and considering he’s only 24, it will make you forget he’s only got 77 speed.

  1. Barkevious Mingo (New England Patriots)

24 Years Old
72 Overall
85 Acceleration
80 Finesse Move
82 Block Shed

It’s funny, in real life people have been waiting for this man to break out for 3 years, yet he’s been dominating in Madden since he’s been drafted. Being 6-4 with 85 speed has allowed him to cause damage every time he takes the field and he has a good finesse move rating of 81 to start with, but the one negative is he isn’t the best run defender, having 75 block shed to start you with, which I would work up ASAP.

  1. Preston Smith (Washington Redskins)

23 Years Old
77 Overall
82 Speed
89 Acceleration
86 Power Move

At 23 years old, Smith is one of the better power move pass rushers in the league, built around him having 82 Speed and 89 Acceleration. Don’t be too eager hitting up the Redskins owner in your league for him, or he might catch on and tax you for him.

  1. Emmanuel Ogbah (Cleveland Browns)

22 Years Old
74 Overall
85 Speed
88 Acceleration
84 Block Shed

If the #1 player on the list never existed, Ogbah would have taken that spot by a landslide, so that tells you how good they this dude is. He’s 22 years old with 85 speed, 88 Acceleration, 83 Power Move and 84 Block Shed. That’s a better line than most 4-5 year starters, and he’ll be eligible to get the crazy amount of xp points for winning rookie of the year in your franchise, making him even more nasty and he’ll still only be 23. I tried to get him in my fantasy draft but I missed him. I’m still salty on that one.

  1. Danielle Hunter (Minnesota Vikings)

21 Years Old
77 Overall
87 Speed
85 Finesse Move
87 Block Shed

Last Madden, it took a season or 2 to get Hunter how they got him now. Usually speed rushers like him have very low block shed ratings, but his is at 87, along with 85 finesse move, making him a complete pass rusher already and he’s only 21 years old. Like I said he’s what guys who draft speed pass rushers in Madden eventually turn their guy into, but he already comes like that, and that’s not good for anybody who faces him. That’s why he sits atop Sports Gamers Online Top 10 Sleeper Pass Rusher list.
