Madden 23 has finally provided an update about recovering the online franchises affected by the data corruption error from late in December. Following the corruption, players were told only about 40% of those affected would be able to be recovered. Now we have some more info on when that might happen.

Franchise Update

In today’s Gridiron Notes, the Madden NFL team said they are continuing to work on the Franchise Cloud Save issue from December 28. This was the issue that cause many players to be unable to access their franchises. The team said that they think only 2% of all Franchises created since the game’s launch in August were created. That means 98% of leagues were not affected. Of course, this includes those leagues that were started months ago by players that are no longer playing the game.

As for when the team hopes to be able to fix the recoverable leagues, the Gridiron Notes offered a possible time window. The notes said that the team is targeting early next week to restore those leagues that can be recovered. Despite this, the team still recommends players start a new league, as not all leagues will be recoverable. In the original statement following this error, the team expected about 40% of leagues to be recoverable. We will see in the days to come if that number was accurate or not.

There was some more Franchise news in this Gridiron Notes as well. A new starting point for Franchises has been added to the Play Now Live option. A Week 17 starting point has been added for players to pick up before the final couple weeks of the NFL season. A Wild Card starting point will also be added next week.

Hopefully, this is a turning point for Franchise mode in Madden 23. While the last few months have been dreadful, it will be nice to see at least some players have their leagues restored. Still, it will be hard for those that have lost their leagues permanently to want to come back to the game at this point in the year.
