No, Madden 23 Isn’t Coming To Xbox Game Pass Day 1

Madden 23 Xbox Game Pass

On Monday, rumors started circulating that Madden 23 was going to be available on Xbox Game Pass on launch day. The rumor started when someone noticed on various versions of the Xbox website, Madden 23 was being advertised.

SGO looked into it immediately, but couldn’t find any evidence of that being the case. It appeared to be either one of two things:

  1. Someone quickly edited the website and shared fake screenshots
  2. It was accidently posted by a Microsoft employee when updating the website

Turns out, it was the latter. EA Sports said in a statement to GameSpot that it was posted by mistake.

“This was an error in how Madden NFL 23 was displayed on Xbox.com and has since been corrected. Madden NFL 23 will not be available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate,” the outlet was told by EA Sports.

That means that if you’ll want Madden 23 at launch, you’ll just have to pick it up the traditional way.

Madden 23 will feature new FieldSENSE gameplay features for the current-gen consoles as well as updates to Face of the Franchise and Franchise Mode for everyone. The game launches on August 19 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Those who pre-order the All Madden Edition of the game can get three days early access on August 16.
