Madden NFL 24 Breaks Sales Records, Offers Free Play Weekend

The launch of Madden NFL 24 was said to be a make-or-break year for the franchise. After technical issues throughout last year’s life cycle, things needed to be better with this year’s game. Well, based on the early metrics, it looks like things are, expectedly, going well for EA Sports’s latest release.

Record-Breaking Performance

Madden NFL 24 has broken records for the series in terms of both sales and player participation. This year’s title set a single-week franchise record for digital units sold. There was also a 36% increase in games played and an increase in players in the first week after launch. It seems like the gameplay improvements and added features like Mini Games and Superstar Mode have gotten players new and old to give Madden NFL 24 a chance.

Mike Mahar, Senior Production Director for EA SPORTS Madden NFL, said, “We love seeing more players enjoying Madden NFL 24, and looking at all the ways they are exploring the new gameplay, new modes, and everything about this year’s experience. NFL Kickoff means a brand new season of world class football competition is upon us, and alongside the big hits and game-changing plays each week, our team will be hard at work bringing new content, experiences, and improvements based on player feedback via live service updates all season long.”

EA Sports also released some statistics showing which players have been used the most so far in Madden NFL 24. Cover athlete Josh Allen has been the most prolific QB since launch. The Bills signal-caller has launched more than double the number of touchdowns as the next closest player. The recently traded Jalen Ramsey has the most interceptions, while the possibly soon-to-be traded Jonathan Taylor has the most rushing touchdowns. Meanwhile, 99 Club member Aaron Donald continues to dominate with the most sacks in Madden NFL 24.

Free-Play Weekend

If you want to try out Madden NFL 24 but haven’t been able to, this weekend will be the perfect opportunity. To celebrate the kickoff of the NFL season, Madden NFL 24 is having a Free Play Weekend from September 7 through September 10.

If you enjoy the experience and decide to purchase Madden NFL 24, there is a new version of the game that comes with extra benefits. The Madden NFL 24 NFL+ Edition is now available until October 10th. This version of the game comes with 3 months of NFL+, the NFL’s premium streaming service. This service includes live local and primetime games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network, Game Replays, and more! This version of the game is priced at $99.99.
