At Pax East 2022, I tried to get game director Liam Edwards to spill the beans about the release date of Cursed to Golf. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it out of him then, but we will finally jump into golf purgatory when Cursed to Golf releases on August 18.
Playstation broke the announcement of Cursed to Golf‘s release date, but Liam jumped in a cleared up that the game will be released worldwide on all platforms.

What Is Cursed to Golf?
Earlier this year, Thunderful Games took the opportunity to announce a summer release window for its upcoming golf game. In addition, PC players could try their hand in golf purgatory for a limited Steam demo during Future Games Show: Spring Showcase. But what is Cursed to Golf?
Cursed to Golf is a retro-style dungeon-like golf game that traps players in Golf Purgatory. How did you end up here? Well, you were struck by lightning and cursed to play the most hellish 18-holes of golf ever. I don’t think you will meet Rory McIlroy there. However, the only way to make it back to the living is to win this vital game.
It’s Not Just Golf, It’s GOLFLIKE
During my interview with Game Director Liam Edwards, he strongly emphasized Cursed to Golf being a GOLFLIKE. This means the games will use similar elements and inspiration from Rouge-like games such as Slay The Spire. However, Liam suggests this is still a golf game, so don’t expect too much on the Rouge-like front.
