How to Beat Cover 0 in Madden NFL 24

Madden 24

Facing Cover 0 can be one of the most stressful situations on offense in Madden NFL 24. When the defense decides to send the house, you only have a mere seconds after the ball is snapped to make decisions. This makes your pre-snap adjustments all the more important. Today, Manu from The Madden Academy has one pre-snap adjustment you can make to get more big plays and touchdowns against Cover 0.

Forget The Streak

On offense, all receiver routes can be classified into two categories: primary routes and pull routes. Primary routes are the routes that you intend to throw to. These are usually posts, corners, and crossing routes. Pulls routes serve as decoys to pull defenders away from your primary routes.

One common example of a pull route is a streak route. This is often used to pull defenders away from either a corner or post route that breaks towards the streak route. When the defender has a deep zone defender, the streak will pull that defender away and open up space for the corner or post route to get open.

However, against Cover 0, there are no deep zone defenders. In Cover 0, you have man coverage against the receivers while everyone else is blitzing. This means using a pull route in this way is pretty useless. If you use a streak as a pull route against Cover 0, all you are doing is adding a defender deep down the field to tackle you once you make the catch.

This is where pre-snap adjustments come into play. If you have a play with a streak acting as a pull for either your corner or post route, you’ll need to get rid of the streak. Hot route the receiver running the streak to a short route like a zig or drag route. Also hot route your running back to block to give you some extra time against the blitz.

This set up with give you a one on one matchup against a route that is great against man coverage. If you can buy yourself enough time to get the throw off, you will consistently get big play touchdowns on your opponent.
