Major Issues Emerge in MLB The Show 24 Following Latest Updates

Last night, MLB The Show 24 received its first major title update since the game’s launch. The update sought to fix issues such as the game crashing on Nintendo Switch, the two-way player bug, and knuckleballers being too powerful. However, this update seems to have done more harm than good to the game. Now, most of Diamond Dynasty is experiencing UI bugs, issues with player models, and some modes being completely unplayable.

New Issues

After last night’s title update was released, players have been reporting a lot of new issues with MLB The Show 24. The biggest issue is that in Diamond Dynasty, player models now appear incredibly short in the game. It looks like one of the old cheat codes you used to put into PS2 games where you would have comically small bodies.

Also, in Diamond Dynasty, offline modes appear completely unplayable. Mini Seasons, Conquest, and Play vs CPU all bring up an error message that prevents users from entering games. The message says players need at least 10 position players on the team to enter the mode. However, this message will pop up even with full squads.

There are also some weird UI issues. Many player names are not showing up in lineup screens and menus. Where the player names should be, it is just blank. Some players are batting right handed even if they are left handed batters. All affected players seem to also wear the number zero instead of their regular jersey number. Finally, the game seems to crash often at random and unpredictable times.

These are just the issues we were able to find ourselves and see others report within the hours after the update’s release. SDS hasn’t said anything officially about the issues yet. Hopefully, they will be able to revert the patch and fix the issues as soon as possible. Sports Gamers Online will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Update

On Thursday morning, the official MLB The Show X account posted that they were aware of the issues caused by the patch, and were working to fix them. Shortly after this, the game’s servers went offline. A few hours later, the servers came back online. At this time, it appears the issues caused by the patch have been resolved. The issues the patch sought to fix also seem to have been fixed. The two-way player glitch, among others, have been fixed.
