NBA 2K21 Demo Coming In August

NBA 2K21 Demo

For those waiting to get their hands on the latest installment of the NBA 2K franchise, a leak on the PlayStation store has revealed that an NBA 2K21 Demo is coming this month.

Playable on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, the NBA 2K21 demo will be available starting August 24. That date falls just under two weeks from the game’s full launch on the aforementioned consoles and PC via Steam.

No NBA 2K21 Demo Details Yet

There’s no word as of writing what will be available in the demo. However, if we look at last year’s demo, fans should be able to get a taste of the game’s MyCAREER mode as well as get a general feel for the changes coming on the court. The demo hasn’t been officially confirmed by 2K Sports, but, based on past years, there’s no reason to question the leaked date.

NBA 2K21 launches on September 4 for the current-gen platforms. The next-gen versions for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will be available when those systems launch this fall.

If you plan on picking up both the current-gen and next-gen versions of the game, be aware that in order to take advantage of 2K Sports’ “free upgrade” promotion, you’ll need to pick up the Mamba Forever edition which retails for $99.99. Buying the standard edition will require a second purchase of the game.

If you do purchase the standard edition of the game on next-gen, expect to pay more. 2K Sports revealed earlier this summer that the base game will cost players $70, a $10 increase from the price that fans have paid for nearly two decades. That said, 2K’s parent company Take Two did seem to hint at that no longer being the plan moving forward.
