Nintendo Switch Sports Golf Update Delayed till Holiday 2022

Don't get teed off about it.

Nintendo Switch Sports launched earlier this year with good reviews. The only real gripe reviewers had with the game was the lack of sports at launch. However, upon the release of Nintendo’s newest Wii Sports game, the Japanese publisher announced there would be two free updates coming to the game. The first was an update for the game’s leg strap accessory and brought a new soccer shootout challenge. The second will add in an old favorite from Wii Sports, Golf. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little longer to play golf on Nintendo Switch Sports, as the update has been delayed to Holiday 2022.

Nintendo Switch Sports Golf

Nintendo Switch Sports’ latest update was slated for this fall, and would add in the series’ fan-favorite golf mode. However, even though the update is delayed, Nintendo shared some details about the mode.

Golf will feature up to 21 holes from the Wii Sports series, and players can tee off locally or online with friends. The sport will also have a survival mode where eight players golf simultaneously, similar to Nintendo Switch Sports‘ bowling feature. Golf will be the seventh sport in Nintendo Switch Sports, and the update will be free.

What do we think about the game?

I reviewed Nintendo Switch Sports last May and had a blast with it. If you want to check out the full review, click here.

“Nintendo Switch Sports attempts to capitalize on the foundation Wii Sports made in 2006. The result is a game launched in a bare state but can be improved in future updates. Besides the absence of baseball and boxing, the six sports on show here are smooth, responsive, and fun.” – Curtis Russell, Nintendo Switch Sports SGO Review.
