Rumblings about a third Crew game being announced have circled the internet for some time now. However, yesterday we got confirmation from The Crew’s Twitter account that a new title will be announced today. Well, we can finally say that The Crew Motorfest is Ubisoft’s next racing game and will be out in 2023.
Welcome to The Crew Motorfest
The Crew is a series known for its ambitious open world of the United States. Players could drive from Downtown Los Angeles to the New York City city center in minutes. While The Crew 1 wasn’t met with many positive reviews, it still went to many lengths to make America your playground.
However, The Crew Motorfest will be on a smaller scale than its predecessor because the game is set on the island of O’ahu. It is a giant step back in terms of “open-world,” but hopefully, Ubisoft will make it dense and worth exploring.
“The Crew Motorfest builds on the legacy of The Crew franchise to make it the best open world action-driving experience in the series.
Get ready to race through the city streets of Honolulu, go down the ashy volcano slopes, an adventure deep in the lush rainforest, drift along the curvy mountain roads, or just chill down on the sunny beach.”
From what the official Motorfest website tells us, a festival is happening on the island, very similar to the Forza Horizon series.
What else to know
We don’t know much about The Crew Motorfest, but Ubisoft released a teaser trailer featuring the streets of Honolulu, new cars, and a release window of 2023. In addition, The Crew publisher released a documentary about the development of its upcoming game, and you can check it out below.
The Crew Motorfest will race out later this year for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. If you want to play the game early, you can sign up for Ubisoft’s Insider Program to possibly receive access to an early playtest.
