EA Sports FC 24 Reveals Loads of Gameplay Changes in its Latest Deep Dive

With the grand reveal of EA Sports FC 24 out the way, EA Sports can start rolling out its yearly deep dives. The first, unsurprisingly, is the new gameplay features coming to this year’s game. EA Sports FC 24 will utilize HypermotionV, introduce new playstyles, and redefine the Frostbite engine.

EA Sports FC 24 Gameplay Deep Dive

HypermotionV

HypermotionV, which stands for volumetric, is a massive step for the gameplay engine in EA Sports FC 24. This new iteration of Hypermotion uses Volumetric Capture Technology, allowing EA Sports to take real-life match scenarios and add them into the game as new animations.

The new technology will replicate player movements like run styles and penalty routines. However, animations powered by HypermotionV will be used for multiple players across all the modes. Ultimately, HypermotionV brings more animations and authenticity to FC 24 than any previous FIFA title.

Play Styles

Play Styles are similar to archetypes. Players will be assigned their signature play styles to give them more of a realistic feel on the pitch—for example, Vinícius Jr. will have the ‘trickster’ play style because of his ability to dribble past defenders.

However, there are better versions of play styles called ‘play styles +.‘ These upgraded versions of play styles turn special skills into spectacular ones.

Hopefully, upgrading these skills to their ‘plus’ version doesn’t make them overpowered. I also hope that the defensive play styles are beneficial and effective.

Upgraded Frostbite Engine

Lastly, EA Sports shared a tiny bit of info regarding its revolutionized version of the Frostbite Engine. So far, what we’ve seen during the initial reveal of EA Sports FC 24 is that the game is using SAPIEN technology and new cloth physics.

However, EA Sports are saving more details on the latest iteration of Frostbite for its Presentation Deep Dive.
