eFootball 2024 New Season Update Ready For Action

efootball 2024 barcelona licensing announcement

As Konami previously announced, eFootball is no longer an annual release that people will have to pay for. This means that at the beginning of each real-life season, a virtual one begins alongside it. This time Konami has dubbed it “Season 0 Ready for Action”. If the numbering is working as a patch number does, this could be the early access stage of eFootball 2024. With it running from 3 August until 28 August, the fans will be expecting a lot more updates than what has been announced thus far.

eFootball renews license with Barcelona

These two organizations have teamed up for seven years now and will continue, hitting an entire decade. Barcelona released a statement explaining how this will allow Konami access to their first team for media purposes. As well as building brand visibility between the two. Fans can be sure they’re going to be seeing a lot more La Liga legends from that club. Not that any fans of football will be complaining about seeing the likes of Ronaldinho and Carlos Puyol in any case. With a new season, many may be wondering if they will lose access to the icons they worked for in eFootball 2023. Konami didn’t directly answer this, but it doesn’t seem like there’s any reason to think they will be lost.

In the announcement trailer, Konami highlighted some of the big-name transfers that have happened over the last few months. This means seeing frequent updates throughout the transfer window. Begging the question, where is the Master League like it was promised to be released in 2023? The YouTube comments are flooded with questions about it because the company has refused to answer anyone on this topic. This update comes with updated kits, squads, and new icons.

The icons are separated as “Epic” and “Big Time”. Right at the front of these two new player types are Ruud Gullit, Kaka, and Marco van Basten. Currently, eFootball is celebrating 650 million downloads with huge log-in giveaways every day. With Season 0 having a total emphasis on MyClub updates only, this might have people appreciating not needing to pay for it. Though, the silence around their promise of Master League and having no mention of it here will leave some people feeling let down.
