FIFA 20 Team Details New Changes to Career Mode

With FIFA 20 right around the corner, the FIFA development team gave us a look into what’s new for Career Mode players in this year’s game.

New Changes to Career Mode

In a “FIFA Pitch Notes” article on the EA website, the FIFA team detailed what players can expect from Career Mode in FIFA 20. The developers stated that they wanted to bring players more diversity and choice into the game, and to bring new life to the Manager Career Mode. The team has put in storylines based off the data the mode generates, as well as the situations that your team is in. The stories will also be built “based on player progress which each player will be able to interact with and influence the morale of the team and their standing as the team’s manager,” according to the FIFA team.

The team wanted to ensure that not only does Manager Career Mode feel authentic, but also dynamic. The stories will be different each time, and this will be based off previous game scores, outcomes, the time of the season, and more.

Press Conferences and Player Conversations

Press conferences will be held before and after games, and will feature new scenes. The press conferences will be very important, as the way a player answers a question will effect a player’s morale. But this won’t be your only interaction with individuals in the game mode. Player conversations are in as well, and these conversations will also be important, as they will serve as the primary 1-on-1 interaction between coaches and players. These interactions can have major effects on your team, as how you handle these conversations can change a player’s morale.

These player conversations, just like the press conferences, will also feel authentic and dynamic, according to the FIFA developers. Managers will have deal with player requests, as well as handle disgruntled players. In order to keep their team strong and content, managers will have handle these conversations in an appropriate manner in order to solve these situations.

Player Morale and Customization

The FIFA team also touted the player morale system that is in place for FIFA 20. A variety of factors will affect a player’s morale, such as player performance, wage expectations, as well as answers to reporters in press conferences.

Manager customization has also received an upgrade, as new styles have been added, and players can now change their avatar’s look throughout the season. Another major addition to the customization is that for the first time, players can select a female character.

Other Improvements

Other improvements to Manager Career Mode include adding live “news” screenshots, as well as League UI themes in the jersey selection screen. Dynamic player potential has also been added to Career Mode in FIFA 20. This means that if a player outperforms his current potential, it can be re-assigned and the player can be given an higher potential.

Lastly, the FIFA team also stated some of the general improvements and additions that will be coming to FIFA 20. Those changes are:

New Negotiation Environments

Spot Fixes and Balancing Changes
